Step 1: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
Step 2: In a saucepan, heat the milk, cooking cream, and a pinch of salt over medium heat. Add the grated lemon zest, vanilla extract, and 4 tablespoons of sugar, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks with 4 tablespoons of sugar until creamy. Gradually add the hot milk mixture to the egg yolks, whisking continuously to avoid curdling. Return the mixture to low heat and stir until it thickens slightly, forming a smooth cream.
Step 4: Add the cooked pasta to the walnut cream and mix gently to coat evenly. Sprinkle with ground walnuts and stir to combine.
Step 5: Serve warm, garnished with additional ground walnuts for a rich, nutty flavor.
